Is this a murder or suicide?

Is this a murder or suicide? What is your opinion? Justify with facts taken from the picture. Apart from your explanation, you also have to comment on your classmates posts. You have to find loopholes in their argument. You should be commenting on at least two of your classmates' explanations. Deadline for your post is 18th Aug. and comments is 20th Aug

Seeing the picture it seems like a murder to me. There is a cigarette in left hand of the victim. No one will smoke while committing suicide.. .

More over victim is holding a gun in right hand. And also it's evident from the picture that victim was writing something facing the window before being shot. So if she had shot herself (facing the window)with the gun in right hand, the blood stain will not be on the wall ,rather it would be in the opposite side. Blood stains on the wall indicates that she was shot from her left side(while facing the window)...

Thus someone must have shot her while she was working.. .
And has tried to set it up as a suicide.. .

I suspect it's a murder and she could have been shot while she was sitting on the stool.
1. The position of the ashtray as well as cigarette on her left hand discloses the fact that she is obviously left handed, hence, it's unlikely that someone uses a non-dominant hand for a successful gunshot in the head.
2. The recoil force of the gun would have probably knocked the gun off from her hand. So someone must have securely placed it in her hand.
3. Blood splatter is on the right-side which is contradictory considering the fact that she is holding the gun in her right hand.
4. Blood splatter is more aligned to her sitting position meaning someone might have shot her while she was writing.
5. Cigarette is unfinished. If it's a suicide, as a chronic smoker, she should have finished it.
It seems like she is trying to write a crucial information she knows in a hurry(lamp is even unplugged). It could also be possible that she knows someone is following her trying to withhold her from spreading the secret.

I guess the incident which has happened to the person is a murder .
1. The gun and the cigarette are in the hands which are surely not possible if she had committed a suicide . No one can hold things on their hands when they are unconscious. So there must have been a second person who had set that up.
2. The mess around there - like the fallen stool and a single slipper shows that she has searched for the gun to shoot the opposite person but was late and got shot . The slipper shows that she ran in hurry to the place in the photo when she saw the enemy .
3 . From the papers and the pen , I guess that the person is some kind of a writer . He must have wrote an article against a party and they should have took revenge on the person .
4 . The lamp plug is out from the electric socket . I guess that the person should have tried to move by grabbing the wire of the lamp .

From the things given in the pic above,we can predict that she was in a hurry to send a message to someone,that she didn't even wore her specs or turn on the lamp to write the letter.
>The lone-slipper may belong to the murderer,he/she could've got panicked after killing the victim and left it.
If it belongs to the victim, the other one would've been in the same place but it is not. So the murderer tried to set this up as a suicide.
So I think it is a "murder".

Here's what I found strange -
right-handers feel easier to write if the paper is kept on the left side. Likewise, left-handers feel easier to write if the paper is kept on the right-side. In this pic both the pen and the paper is on the left-side .
>So there's a chance that the murderer could've killed the victim and wrote the letter as a suicide note and just placed the pen on the left side.(Anyway this is not going to change anything).

I conclude this as a "murder".

In my opinion this is a murder and not a suicide... Let us see how..
1.It is clear from the position of the lamp , pen and the papers that the victim is left handed.
2.People mostly use their dominant hand for doing activities and use the other hand only for support...Hence the position of the pistol in the right hand creates a suspicion..
3.Moreover our body loses it's control after we die. Hence holding an object after death is impossible...
4.The blood smear on the wall is lower than the height of the victim...This indicates that the victim has been shot while she was sitting..(as she has been shot in the head)
5.The room and the work- space is not well-organized i.e it is messy which indicates signs of violence...
6.From the above facts I conclude that the this case is not a suicide but a murder..
I suppose that the victim is a journalist and she knows a secret and the assaulter doesn't wish that the secret comes out. The assaulter and the victim might have had an heated argument which is indicated by the messy space. As the victim was about to pen down the secret and publish it , the assaulter shot the victim(from the left) while she was sitting and hence the stool fell down and the victim fell towards her right...While falling down she might have held the lamp wire for support and in turn unplugged the lamp...The assaulter has made the whole thing look like a suicide so that people don't suspect him/her....

Hi Iam KEERTHANA.S. I suspect this crime to be a murder because
1)The lamp,coke,ash tray on the right side and the cigarette on her right hand clearly shows that the person is left handed.People usually use their dominant hand to shoot or while committing suicides.But the gun is in her left hand which raises a doubt that somebody might have wantedly placed the gun in her hand.
2)The blood splatter on the wall and the gun on the same side is not possible.
3)The stool being led down on the side she had fallen makes it clear that she was sitting on the stool when she was shot.
4)The position of the dead body shows that she must be sitting with her back facing the wall which in turn makes it clear that she was not writing on the table anything when she was shot.
5)And finally no human will commit suicide leaving a cigarette half smoked.Or atleast she must have thrown it and shot herself(which is not done.)
Hence I suspect this to be a murder.Thank you.

Hi this is Swadesh.
I think it is a suicide because he has alcohol bottle in the trash and has smoked more than 1 cigar which can be seen from the ash tray. So, from these points we can safely assure that he is in depression. he is either a right-handed person or ambidextrous. I would assume he is right-handed because the pen is facing in a direction that a right hander would keep it in. The lamp is in the left side because the plug is in that position and from the length of the cable it isn’t possible for him to place it in the required position. Suicides are committed in anxiety, anger, fear and depressed situation. So the reason why he hasn’t finished his cigar is because he was afraid and depressed before committing suicide and since such a decision is taken at that very moment in fraction of a second. Another reason is that with the height of this person I would say he was sitting on the chair and killed himself and the gun was in close range because blood is everywhere in that place and it has an entry and an exit wound because blood is on both sides and the gun being merely a pistol the bullet if fired at a distance would have simple lodged rather than coming out.

Hey guys
I think this is a murder. Probably that night this could have been the sequence of events:

*The victim sat on the stool and was smoking and had also consumed alcohol(as there is an alcohol bottle). She could be enjoying a perfect evening.
*Suddenly the murderer comes in probably from the front door since the windows are locked.The murderer comes and pushes the victim.She falls along with the stool.
*She then stands up and they might have had an argument.The murderer then shoots the victim.
*If it was a suicide there is no need for her to get up from the stool and shoot herself.
* The murderer then writes a suicide note to make us believe it is a suicide. But the murderer didnt notice that she was a left hander.
* This must have been his first crime.He got scared and in a hurry he left his slipper. The slipper does not belong to the victim, if it was the victim's there would have been two slippers.
*The nightlamp is unplugged and the window shows it is dark outside.So there are no chances of her writing a suicide note. The murderer must have wrote it then unplugged the lamp the make the crime scene look as it was earlier.
* Since she is a left hander there are no chances of her holding the pistol on the right hand.
All these evidences clearly state it a murder.

I think it is a murder because of the following reasons:
*From the picture we can see that the victim is holding a cigarette
in his/her left hand. It does not mean that he/she is left-handed.
The half written paper on the table suggests that he/she was writing
something before the occurance of the event. We can also see that
the pen is not closed. So it is actually possible that she was
writing something with her right hand and was holding a cigarette on
her left-hand during which the murderer could have shot him/her.

*The victim is holding a gun in his/her right hand. If the victim had
shot himself/herself, the blood cannot possibly be on the right wall
assuming he/she sat facing towards the table. So the gun could have
been placed on the right hand of the victim by the murderer to make
it seem like a suicide. To add on, the gun is seen firmly held by
the victim which is not possible because if it was a suicide then
the gun would have been thrown away during the fall.

*The stool too is seen under the writing desk. So the murderer would
have moved the stool out of his way to place the gun on the right
hand of the victim.

So I suspect this as a murder.

I suspect this crime scene to be a murder because of the following reasons.

1) The victim is firmly holding the gun. If the victim committed suicide by shooting herself, then the gun should have fallen off from her or the grip should have been loosen which is not in this case. So the murderer must have shot her and placed the gun in her hand to make the crime scene as a suicide.

2) There is only one slipper. That slipper cant be the victim's because nobody wears a single slipper. We always wear it as a pair. So the slipper should be the murderer's one. He must have left his/her slipper in hurry to escape the crime scene.

3) If the victim killed herself, she would have placed the pen down and then shot herself as she was holding a cigar on her left hand. But notice one thing that the paper which she was writing on are tilted 45 degree to the left which obviously tells that the victim was a right handed person. But the pen is placed on the left side of the paper. So the murderer didn't notice whether she was a left or right handed person as he was in a hurry and placed the pen on the left side of the paper.

All these evidences conclude that this is a "MURDER".

This was murder which was supposed to look like a suicide.

The person is left handed as she is holding the cigarette in left hand and also , judging by the position of lamp and pen. So she cannot shoot her with her right hand. As we know everyone will use their dominant hand.

Even if she is right handed, the blood stains must be on the left side.
From seeing the blood stains, it is clear that she was shot by the murderer. And the murderer placed the gun in her hand to make this murder to look like a suicide.

I think its a murder .The justifications are:

1.First of all, the girl would be a left handed person .Its clearly seen through the position of the cigarette ash tray,a pack of cigarettes, the direction of the study lamp,the way the pen has been handled ,a plate, etc.

2.But the orientation of papers brings a difference here.Still most of the things support that the girl must be a left handed only.The real murderer would be a right handed person and would have left the papers in the way he/ she has written a note regarding the false suicide to distract the investigators view .

3.The girl is firmly holding the gun and cigarette which proves it to be a planned murder.If the girl has committed suicide, she would have definitely dropped the gun and the cigarette.Therefore, the murderer would have placed it firmly in her hands.

4.The girl's slipper is lying down in the middle .If it was a suicide, she would have been wearing it.She would have tried to escape from the murderer and left one of her slippers away.Therefore, it is a murder.

5.There should have been a heated arguement between the girl and the murderer and the murderer would have hit her hard against the wall which is evident from the amount of blood splash which is a not only due to a gun shot.Something would have taken place further.

Therefore, the murderer have planned clearly to distract the investigators but have failed to position the gun in her left hand .The murderer have planned to make everyone believe it to be a suicide.

Therefore,I conclude it to be a murder.

I believe this is a murder because of the following reasons:

1.The blood stain is on the rear wall, and looking at the direction in which she is lying, she had to be shot on the middle of her forehead. This definitely points to the fact that she was shot dead by someone else. If it was a suicide then she had to be holding the gun in both her hands for her to be able to shoot herself in the middle of her forehead.

2.The victim has a cigarette in her left hand. If she was committing a suicide, I don’t see the necessity to be smoking then.

3. Looking at the way the paper on the desk is placed, the victim seems to be a right-handed person. If it was a suicide there is no way that the blood stains would be on that wall. Moreover, if it was a suicide the victim would have placed the pen on the right side of the paper, however the pen seems to be hurled away thereby suggesting that it had to be a murder.

In my point of view it is a murder because

1.lets assume this is a suicide and this dead person holding gun on his right hand and a cigarette in his left hand,if he shot himself with a gun then he would place the gun on the right side of the head and the blood stain will be more on the left side of the image than right side

2.moreover if we observe the table ,the pen ,ash-tray,coke can placed on the left side of the paper.
we have to observe here carefully
2.1 if the person is right hander then the pen should be placed on the right side of the paper ,I think that he is writing with his right hand and holding cigarette in the left hand and beverage on his left side. this is a apt position for a person who writes something.
2.2 if the person is a left hander then the ash-tray and beverage should be placed on the right side but it is opposite here

3. I think he has been shot dead while writing something because the killer shot on the left side of of his head and he has fallen down ,observe that the chair has also fallen down on the right side

Some strange things are
1. If the killer shot him with a gun then should be a bullet somewhere here but not.

2. The blood stain on the wall is too thick it looks like killer enters the room ,drags the victim head and hit him on the wall that's why the blood stain is too high there is a reason also because there is a single slipper facing towards the wall
It must be belong killer's, because no one wears slipper inside a house.
The killer might him with an object,in that speed the victim might hit the wall that's why the blood is on the wall

3. If the victim falls from the chair and hits the wall accidently because of the wire of the lamp,the probability that he die is very less ,

Moreover if the victim died because of gun shot then the blood would spread on all directions ,at least on table paper or paper or on the floor ,but the blood is on the wall only

My conclusion is that it is surely a murder ,it might be because of gun shot or the killer dragged the head of the victim and hit him on the wall

The picture reveals that it is a murder.She is writing something important and I think that her writing is related to her murder.
Moreover,The murderer plotted the scene as a sucide but he is not so brilliant.

I suspect it as a murder because of these observations
1.The way the paper is tilted on the desk is the natural angle at which a right - handed person writes, not how a left handed one does it. However, the way the pen is placed is how you would place it down after writing with the left hand.
2.when someone commit suicide by gun then body releases all tension,which means the gun would not be in their hand. But the victim in the picture is holding it(and also cigarette) firmly which is not possible.
3.after the murder, the killer might have placed the gun and half - burnt cigarette in the victim's hands and then wrote the suicide note. The killer could've probably created this suicide scenario by placing gun and cigarette in victim's hand.

I think so it is a murder,because of the following reasons.
1.She is holding the gun in her right hand.If she had shot herself while sitting in the stool ,facing the window,then the blood would be in the opposite wall.It won't be in the right side wall itself.
2.She is holding the cigarette and the gun firmly in her hand.If she had died due to gun shot,then she would have thrown the gun and the cigarette away,out of shock.
3.The blood stain on the wall appears like the one which would arise when somebody is banged against the wall with great force.
4.And there is only one slipper in the scene.The victim might have tried to escape from the murderer by running and while running would have left her slippers her and there.When she had finally reached this spot,the murderer would have killed her by banging her against the wall and would have created the suicide set up to escape from the police.

I'm voicing out my views in a way to conclude the above is an example of a murder.

The lamp kept on the right side,cigarette on the left hand clearly indicates that she is left handed but if we see properly, the plug point is just below the lamp and athe wire isn't that very lengthy .She might have kept the lamp there without any other option.It's dark outside indicating evening or night, so she might have wanted to feel the breeze and spend time with nature.
The murderer would have jumped into the room through the window.
The picture shows as if the windows are closed but actually it might not be so when he came in. Since he jumped inside , the lamp would have fallen down. That's why the plug point isn't connected. As it is dark she would have definitely switched on the lamp to write something otherwise she wouldn't be able to see what she is writing . The lamp must be initially on but when he jumped through the window the lamp might have fallen down and so the wire could have been detached from the plug point.
The gun is clearly that of the murderer but I think he didn't use it. Rather, after jumping in,he would have choked her throat right away. Had he used the gun the blood stains can be spotted all over the room, but we can't find a single blood stain even on the flower vase kept nearby. But it was spread only on the wall. As I said he might have pushed her to the corner of the room, to get the support of the wall and apply pressure on her throat. As a result the blood is found all over the wall. May be in a hurry to leave he would have forgotten that he had left one of his slippers.
The murder trying to be oversmart, arranged things right in place but he didn't realise that he didn't connect the wire to the plug point, and he didn't take back his footwear . and inorder to deceive this incident as a suicide,he might have placed the gun on her hand and he himself might have written a suicide note which appears to be placed there.Moreover he has closed the window before leaving the house...so that investigators eliminate the thought of someone coming in through the window.
If she was a smoker or a person who consumes alcohol due to depression, i don't think being addicted to it, would have made her throw the bottle into the dustbin(which no consumer of alcohol would do) or leave her last smoke incomplete.
It is clearly seen from the fallen stool and from the room arrangements ,the victim obviously try to escape from the murderer..but she can't
So ,according to me I conclude this is a murder..

In my point of view, this seems like a murder. Ive listed down some points to support my argument.

1.The direction of the Gun and the blood splatter really don't seem to match.He/She has a cigarette on the left hand and the workplace seems to imply that the victim is a left hander. So its practically not possible to shoot oneself with a two things in a hand. It looks like someone had shot him/her down and placed the gun in her hand, so that it doesn't seem like a murder.
2. The things around the person seem scattered. If she/he had committed suicide, why would they do it so messy?. Mostly people who suicide either write a note, or don't leave a clue on why they committed suicide.
3. The lamp cord seems to be plugged out. I don't think anyone would plug out the lamp cord and leave it hanging there. So I strongly feel there is a second person in this frame. The murderer would have wanted to kill that person in the dark and Since it was night then( assumption from the shade of the windows), the lamp would have been the only source of light, and so the murderer might have plugged it out.
4. The murderer probably watched the victim so carefully. that he had planned to murder him/her when he/she was in the influence of alcohol. (Vulnerability).
5. The stool beneath the victim and the slipper adds on to the fact that he/she was murdered. The victim would have trembled in pain and would have fallen off the stool.

From my observation,I think this incident is a murder.
The way the paper and pen are positioned in the table shows that she must be a right handed person.
If she had shot herself,then the blood would have been spattered to her left side but here the blood is spattered on the right wall.So someone would have shot her from her left .so definitely this is not a suicide.
It is seen from the picture that she is a smoker.She might have been smoking while writing .At that time,the murderer crept into her room and shot her dead.Due to the effect of shooting,along with the stool she might have fallen onto the floor and one of her slippers slipped away from her foot.
Then the murderer might have unplugged the lamp to make the room dark and to make this incident look like suicide,the murderer would have kept the gun in her hand.
These are the reasons to conclude this as a murder.

I suspect this to be a murder.
I guess the victim is a left handed person. It is evident from the position of the study lamp and the cigarette in her hand . If it was a suicide, the victim would have been wearing the slippers. But here, there is only one slipper. I guess it belongs to the murderer. He would've missed it there when he had left the spot in a hurry. From the blood stain on the wall, I guess that the murderer would've shot the victim when she was sitting on the stool. Also, the victim is holding the gun in her hand so firmly which is practically not possible. So the murderer must've shot her and placed the gun in her hand to make it look like a suicide.
Therefore I conclude this to be a murder.

This picture depicts a murder. I can say for sure that this is not a suicide.

The emotions of the room doesn't look like a place where it had a suicider for a long time. Its more of a normal room where a girl lives on her terms.

The room has books arranged in well manner. A person who decides to commit suicide would have tried looking at their books , or their favorite collections. And if they come to such a decision, why would they decide to arrange in pile.

The flowers are fresh. Person with such depression (a thought of suicide) wouldn't care to change the flowers or try to keep their surrounding fresh.

The gun is found in right hand. There are papers and pen on the table which shows that the girl is facing towards that. If she had shot with her right hand , why would there be blood splash on the opposite side. This clearly states that a murderer shot her and the position of fallen chair also convince this point.

The missing of one slipper is suspicious. She might have struggled or tried to run and the slipper got misplaced. To clear the evidence,the murderer would have removed it.

There are bottles in the garbage can. This might be some act of the murderer to make it look as a suicide. Because,if she wishes to keep to room fresh(since there are fresh flowers),she wouldn't dispose the bottles in trash can. She would've thrown away. We could see there is an ash tray. So the girl is a neat freak and the bottle's place is suspicious.

The knob of the window is in half way. The murderer would have closed it to escape without anybody seeing him. Then why would the window be closed in day light?

Thus it is a murder and not many points support it to be a suicide.

After the observation of the picture given ,
I suspect that would be a suicide. Because every things on the table and the flower vase all are in perfect positions. If it is a planned murder,then the murderer will miss any evidence. But there was no things were misplaced.
From the other friends points if she is in problem and write something against a party or someone ,she won't smoke . because she has no security for her life then how could she smokes.
In Ash tray there are some uncompleted cigarettes are there. So she was not in hurry of writing.
She wants to commit suicide.but she was afraid about it . That's why she smoked . And she wrote a conclusion of her life. From the picture the pen and paper was clearly placed.she was a right-handed because the gun was in right hand only,No one can use their another hand to do new and afraid things.
She was a smoker that's why she
can use her both hand ( left hand) to smoke. By seeing this picture she looks
She was in her room with her casual night wear and she was depressed.
In most of the suicide cases ,they commit with suicide when they are alone . Like that here also she committed suicide.
After she shot her with gun ,she fell down .at that time only the chair was distured. Therefore I conclude this to be a suicide.

The following case seems to be a murder.
Firstly, I would like to put forth my perspective to rule out the possibility of a suicide.

1. Assuming that she was facing the window and writing something (not a suicide note), the scene clearly indicates that she has fallen to her right from the chair. So, if she had committed suicide using the gun in her right hand, then there is no chance for the gun to be in her hand, as the gun would have popped out of her right hand due to the impact with the floor.

2. If she had shot herself using her right hand on the right forehead, then the blood splatter should have been on the left side of her. But the crime scene shows us that the blood splatter is to the right of her, which hints us about a murderer who has shot her from her left.

3. The pen and the cigarettes are on the left hand side which would mean that her dominant hand is her left one. To support this point, the lamp is on her right which is the general place where a left handed person would keep it. Even her glasses are on her left which is enough evidence to conclude that her dominant hand is left.To pull a trigger using one's non dominant hand is not anyone would choose. So it is clearly a planted evidence.

So this is what, i think, would have happened. The murderer has pre-plans the murder and shot the victim using a gun. This is where she falls down and her hand unplugs the lamp when she falls. Then the murderer plants the gun in the victim's hand and escapes seemingly making it a suicide.

In my opinion this is clearly a suicide and not a murder.

The blood stain on the wall is not splattered, hence she must be shot from a closer range.
Had if she was shot from a distance, the blood would be splattered and the speed of the bullet would have been so high tht it pierced into her head and hit near the window. Hence it must be clogged inside her head leading to a clumsy single splash on the wall

1. If it was a murder.. the person who came to kill her is not that foolish to leave his slippers in her room. It looks like a normal slipper which we wear in the house. So she must have hurried when she came to write a suicide note, at tht time the slipper must have fell near her.

2. She doesn't have any defending scars on her body, hence she did not tackle the murderer, nor her dresses are rolled up , hence she was not dragged to that position.

3.commiting a suicide needs a lot of courage, the alcohol in the dustbin and the ashtray proves that she tried to intoxicate herself before committing a suicide.

4. Most of the person who uses spectacles wont removed it after writing a note. She must have cried and so inorder to wipe her tears she must have removed the glasses.

5. She must be a right handed person because even though there is a lot of space on her left, she kept the books on her right so that she can reach the book easily.

My interpretation is..
She must have hurried and sat to write a suicide note, cried a lot and removed the glasses, smoke some cigar, and in order to get the courage she grabbed a cigar in her hand and reached the cupboard to grab a gun, sat with her back facing towards the window and shot herself.

I think it is a murder,because the blood stain on the wall is rightside to her and the gun she is holding also on the same side which is not possible when she commit suicide by shooting herself.The murderer might be a known person to her,and they might had a clash( due to their personal issues)in that process, the stool fell down and lamp is plugged out.
The blood stain on the wall might be happened when muderer hit her head against the wall and shot her with his gun.Then,he planned to mislead the case by creating it as a suicide.so,he left a suicide note(written by the murderer) on the table,Ash tray,gun in the victim's right hand,cigarette in the left hand which seems that she committed suicide because of depression.

In my opinion, it's a murderer.

- There is only one slipper in the photo that in the ground .Now if she shot herself she should have her slippers on her feet or both her slippers should be on the ground where she placed it .But it is not in this case.It shows she lost the slippers during a struggle with the murderer.
– Now Cigarette in left hand shows she is a left handed person, She can`t shot herself by right hand.
– Now she has written something on a paper ,but the table lamp is not connected with the wall socket.
– Now she is holding a cigarette in her left hand.She should have dropped the cigarette before shooting if it is a suicide.
– Now she is shown shot in her right side of head and there is blood in the wall on the right side.
– Now if it is a suicide the impact of bullet should have caused her to fall to her left side but she is shown fall to her right side.This shows a presence of third person who caused the body to fall on the right side

It's both. It's a painting and only the artist would know if he intended it one way or the other but it has elements of both. Couldn't find the artist but there are signs of left handedness and body staging but also the window is locked so I assume the door was locked, are those keys between the cigarettes and soda? Where is the other sandal? How much can you really deduce from a painting? That's art.

But in my opinion it's a murder:

The gun is in her right hand, but looking at the rest of the scene she has a cigarette in her left hand and the ash tray is on the left side of the counter. Given that there is also a window and a knocked over stool, I predict that she was sitting down facing the window smoking a cigarette. But if she was smoking the cigarette the window would have been open as no one is stupid enough to suffocate themselves with the smoke coming from their own cigarette. So the murderer could have closed the window to make it look like a suicide. Also if she shot herself in the head with her right hand the blood spray would shoot the other direction - the attack had to come from her left. She was murdered and then the shooter put the gun in her right hand.

Why would a person smoke and kill at the same time ? Even if he had done so
The cigar must have dropped from his hand.But it was still clutched between the fingers which is impossible...it would have been placed by the murderer.

If the slipper belongs to the woman the other slipper must be lying somewhere near..
3.the position of body
The position of legs doesn't seem like that of a dead body..the murderer must have dragged the body and would have placed it in such a way.

I think it must be a suicide to all viewers. But unfortunately, it's a cut and clear murder. The story is that the victim might have reading something with a cigarette in the right hand without specs. Shortly, murderer comes and kills her by gun shot.the blood stain proves it. In order to escape, he plotted to do something different as to make this murder a suicide.

First to make viewers think she is a left hander. So there is a cigarette in her hand as she smokes with her left hand usually.

Second is that the pistol which she holds in her right.

I believe this is a murder and not a suicide.
If it were a suicide the only weapon of self destruction is the gun. However there are no bullet marks on the wall.
The blood splatter shows that the victim must have been injured brutally while trying to save herself.
The left handed victim who was writing something as she smoked and drank, was shocked to see the murder, in surprise, she must have leapt out of the stool. This explains the mess on the table and the fallen stool. In the frenzy her chappals might have been strewn away, one of which we can see in the picture. The victim might have held out a gun in defence which she tried to get hold off with great difficulty as she didn't have her glasses on and she wasn't in her best state, which also explains the mess. But before much could be done, she must have been killed in a manner different from being shot as no signs of bullet and the blood splatter shows its either a sharp force injury(stabbing) or a hard force injury(beating). The glass frame behind her shows no signs of breakage which shows the victim died almost immediately. As she was in a drunken state, she couldn't put up her best fight.

This incident seems to be happened
at night time since the victim is in night suit with her one of the slippers nearby....
I think that, she could have any personal issue.....For instance,she could have got in an argument with her boyfriend....
There would be any fight in the morning...
After sometime ,she would have been realized and planned to commit suicide...
Further,the red on the wall may be a painting or someother else...since there is no,a drop of blood in the floor..... Also,a suicide letter on the desk suggests a suicide....This may be done out of frustration!!!

In my point of view this is a murder.Here one should observe that cigarette is in her left hand and whereas the gun is in her right hand .actually it seems to be she might have been writing a letter about some complaint on someone(enemy).when enemy come to know about this,he rushed into her home inorder to kill her .when she saw him ,she ran into her room to pick the gun.in this course of time she was shot by the enemy from the entrance of the room.becozt of this may be blood was splashed on the wall which is exactly on her back side.

As per Dhayalraj assumption only the artist know what is actually happened.
Normally artists won't draw like this one. I think it might be a true incident.

In my point of view, artist is the murderer. He might be a professional photographer and artist.He may have habbit of killing people and taking photo instantly then drawing it as an art.

The proofs are as allows:

1)Blood still didn't touch the ground.

2)Cigarette is not fully completed.

If we investigate the artist, we can know the murderer.

If still you are confused, whether it is a suicide or murder, don't think high, it's just an art.

This might be a suicide because she had wriiten a suicide letter before attempting suicide.If we look keenly at the picture she had mentioned her name at the end of letter.In my point of view,she might be mentally and physchologically disordered because of some reasons(love failure,scoldings from parents etc..).so she had run in to room because of that her footwears were scattered.Then she might write her reasons for attempting suicide.In the mean of time she had smoked many ciggarettes because of tension whether to die or not.She hadn’t plugged in the lamp because of tension.At last she had shot her itself with pistol.While falling she had hitted with wall so the blood had spreaded on the wall.
In my point of view if we are depressed we should consult with our friends and parents.we should not take any wrong decisions.”Nothing is permanent”.

1) Left handed. Gun on right.
2) Blood on right wall.
3) He had time to stop and look at the person because he set his glasses down and pen looking over.
4) mouth open.
5) It was dark, so he probably couldn't see the person. (Lamp not pluged in)
6) Chair nocked over. He had stood up and looked over when he got shot, Because of the position of his head and The blood on the wall, It had to of been close range.
7) Was drinking recently, so Either Someone was drinking with him, or He was stressed about something, Causing him to drink and Light a cigarette.

I believe this a murder.
The unfinished cigarette shows that this was not a suicide otherwise she would have finished it.
The victim is left handed because the papers on her desk are pointed towards the right and if she wanted to shoot herself she would have held the gun in the left hand and not the right.Also her glasses r towards the left side of the table.
The messy state of the room suggests that her attacker took her by surprise and the victim tried to defend herself with a gun in hurry.

The probability of the above scenario to be a murder is higher than that of suicide.so I suspect this to be a murder.
1) she seems to be a right handed person...I can say this by looking at the position of the paper and the gun in her right hand.also,you have the ash tray and Coca-Cola tin in the left side..generally humans use their non-dominant hand while using these.
2) I strongly disagree that this is a suicide because if a person shoots himself with the right hand blood will splash towards the left..
3)it's dark and lamp is turned off so probably the murderer could not figure out where is the person in the room

4)the room is untidy with all things messed up.

May be the murderer due to darkness not being able to see,messed up all the things , shot the person and left the spot..

This is a murder. At first when a common man wants to suicide he prefers cutting nerves, sleeping pills etc., Not gun because gun license is not that easy and one should know how to handle the gun. Usually gangsters have good practice in gun. The second thing is that if she shot after writing sitting on the chair , the blood should have shattered on the other wall..And seeing the lamp plugged off... Everyone uses switch to on and off the lamp, not the plug...it might have accidentally plugged off during the defense from the murderer.The chair also should have fallen when she tried to save herself from the murderer.And the slippers....if she were wearing the slippers while writing , after she is dead , it should be lying very close to her feet( both the slippers , not a single one) .. But the slippers are actually scattered away during the defense... Coming to cigarette , if she usually smokes, there should be an ash tray on her table..It seems like murderer kept the cigarette on her hand to make others believe it a suicide...And coming to the letter on the table , if she were writing her last letter , she would have written everything on her mind not a half page...

The picture looks like a murder at first sight.The girl is having a cigarette in her left hand.The position of the pen on the table indicates that the girl is a right hander.So if she smokes her cigarette will be on her right hand.The flowers look quite fresh in the vase.If the girl was depressed she wouldn't have the mind to replace the flowers..Also there is only one slipper on the floor.The would have fought the killer and her slippers would have come off .One is here and the other one might be somewhere else in the same room.The fight with the murderer explains the knocked down stool on the ground.Looking at the notes on the table,it is only filled for half a page which rules out the possibility of a suicide note.So maybe in order to avoid suspicion the murderer placed a gun on the girl's hand like he did with the cigarette.

This is clearly a murder. I have listed some of the facts which proves it below.
1. the window is black which suggests that it is night time and also we could see the table lamp not plugged in. It is clearly visible that she was writing something. How would she write during night time in the dark?
2. She has the gun in her right hand and she is clearly a left hander.If she has commited suicide the blood stains would have been on the opposite side but it is not the case here.
3. if she has commited suicide, then there would not have been such a large blood stain on the wall.

There could have been many scenarios which could have happened

She was writing a letter and smoking a cigarette when she should have heard somebody entering the room. By instinct she would have reached for her gun standing up ,by then it was too late for her. The murderer has shot her in the head and that has caused the blood stains on the wall.

Other possibility is that she would have heard someone entering the room while she was smoking the cigarette and trying to stand up she would have tripped down and would have unplugged the lamp. By the time she got up she was shot by the murderer. To make this murder a suicide, the murderer would have placed his own gun in her hand and would have written down a suicide note making this incident look like a murder. Clearly She is a left hander judging by the lamp. But the murderer might have been a right hander thereby writing down some suicide note and leaving the place quickly leaving one of his footwear behind.

All these facts suggest that it is clearly a MURDER.

I think the person is holding a gun for her own safety because she must have somehow seen the murderer coming but she might be too late in using it.
Also the position of the blood on the wall is so odd. Only a bullet which is shot from a different angle can make the blood appear at that spot.
So I conclude that it's a murder.

It's murder. The shell casing on the desk could only have gotten there if the gun was fired using the right hand (since the ejection port is on the right side of the gun), and the blood splatter is obviously on the wrong side. The the victim was left handed which is shown by pen/light placement, and the direction the paper is turned in. The half smoked cigarette is in the left hand and the ash tray is on the left side of the desk, meaning they were probably smoking out of the window after taking a break from writing (which is why the reading glasses are off). If the killer cared enough to place the gun in the person's hand they were obviously trying to cover their own tracks, which is why they unplugged the lamp while placing the gun to stop people outside from seeing the blood splatter. In addition to this, they also closed the window, since closed windows are much more inconspicuous than open ones.

I think it is a murder bcoz of the following reasons.
1) The person is clearly left-handed. The lamp is placed to the right side which is again a common tendency for a left-handed person. She is even holding a half burnt cigarette in her left hand so she obviously didn’t shoot herself.

Basic human behaviour suggests that we tend to finish all our work before committing suicide. So she would have finished her cigarette first before having to kill herself.

She’s holding the gun the opposite direction where the blood splatter is at. The point of impact and the blood splatter speak otherwise.

When you commit suicide by gun your body releases all tension, meaning the gun would not be in their hand.

The light is unplugged, and you can see (what seems like) the night sky in the window. How could the person write a suicide note in the dark?

It’s a suicide case, I think she was sitting facing the table smoking the cigarette with her left hand and writing a letter with her right hand that he is about committing a suicide, to help the police when investigating, not to accuse wrong people for the incident, After writing the letter ,she turned backward to the table and held the gun with her right hand and the cigarette in the other hand. After a while, she shot her herself BOOM , the bullet passed through the right ear and blood split out from the left ear to the wall. If this was a murderer case, she won’t lye in that state

The cigarette is only half smoked it looks. If someone wanted to kill themselves, wouldn't they want to smoke the whole thing? Or at the very least, put it out. Also the placement of everything on the table indicates that the person was left handed. Yet the gun is in the right. I'm going to say it's a murder.

Clearly murder because the lady is left handed not only because of the orientation of the pen but also because the spectacles are on the right hand side.. if one hand uses the pen, the other hand usually adjusts the glasses...
Plus the blood splatter on the window makes it a difficult angle for it to be a suicide.. say if the lady was after all right handed and she sat sideways on the stool and then pushed the trigger through her temples, because of the momentum, both of her arms would fall on the same side of her body (as opposed to the spread apart manner shown here), so it is clearly murder..

Suicide. The victim was actually facing away from the window when the shot was fired. indicated by the direction their body is facing with the victims knees facing away from the window. There also appears to be a shell casing beside the lamp indicating the gun was fired close to the victim, a reasonable range for a self inflicted wound. Like stated above the placement of items on the desk does not indicate a left handed person beyond a reasonable doubt. For example the lamp is on the right side but so is the outlet, the cord may simply not be long enough to be put on the left side.

The question is whether it's a suicide or murder. Most of you guys see the picture in the intention of proving as a murder and you don't thing why it can't be a suicide and search points for proving as murder.
If you say it a murder, I have a question for you. If someone is coming to kill you, you won't let him easily to kill you, atleast you will make attempts to escape from him by running out throwing things near you towards him. But in the picture all the things are kept as it is.And so it should be a suicide.
You may ask the question that she is a left hander and the gun is in the right hand. It's not the case that the gun will fire only you use the respective hand.The gun will fire irrespective of the left of right hand if you fire. As it's a very short range you can any of the hands to fire. Only for long ranges you should use perfect hand and should have perfection.
Finally! I conclude that it is a suicide!!!

It is a murder... Seeing the direction of her body lying down... And the blood stains on the wall... It is obvious that the gun was pointed towards head.. not pointed to the side of her head.. which is the case in 75% of suicide cases... The cigarette in her hand is not fully puffed.. psycological analysing this... A person who wants to die will always want to do something COMPLETELY for one last time... But she didn't smoke completely so it also raises some suspicions.. There are also some signs of struggle.. for example look at the table lamp.. she might have lifted the lamp and tried to hit the murderer... But before that she gets shot and the murderer keeps the lamp back at the table but forgets to plug it to the switch box.. so I think it is a murder

I suscept this is a murder..and i also say that she has been shooted out while sitting on the chair.The fact that the murdered lady is a left handed which is revealed by the cigarartte in her left hand and ashtray..and im conveying that is not a suucide since if she was a chronic smoker,she would smoke until the cigaratte finishes,she won't die at half cigaratte incomplete.This proves that it is a MURDER

I'm pretty sure this is a murder and not a suicide for a number for reasons.

The girl seems to be left handed. Most of the objects on her desk are facing towards the left side. The cigarette is also in her left hand. The objects would have obviously been facing the right side if she was right handed, so we can conclude that she is left handed.

The gun is also in her right hand. There are 2 reasons for why this is a problem. The first is that she is left handed for the reasons stated above. The second is that the recoil of the gun would have caused her to drop it. Shooting a gun takes a lot of force and it is very difficult to fire without dropping it.

Her slippers are on the floor and her cigarette is unfinished. This implies that she was murdered in the middle of doing something,and not a suicide.

For these reasons, I have concluded that this is a murder and not a suicide.
